Zoo Entry + VR Experience

Visit Te Nukuao Wellington Zoo to get up close and personal with native treasures and endangered animals from around the world, and enjoy Wild Explorer, our new immersive virtual reality experience!

Discover a wide range of animals from across Aotearoa and the world, then explore even more of the natural world beyond the Zoo at Wild Explorer. Journey to new environments and encounter incredible animals in a whole new way, using the power of virtual reality. With new experiences every few months, there’s always something new to discover. Right now, choose from Gorilla Trek, Shark Dive, or Dinosaur Evolution.

Child entry to the Zoo applies for 4-14 year olds, and under 3s are free. To participate in Wild Explorer, children must be at least 4 years old or 90cm high.

Tickets must be used on the date of purchase. Wild Explorer is open 10 am - 4 pm every day except Christmas Day - please note there is only one time (10am) available for purchase below, and by selecting this option you are able to head to Wild Explorer any time between 10am-4pm.
